Updates..

I'm officially a Pre-Comms major! Hurray! After much careful thought, Blake and I decided it would be a good idea for me to go to school for summer semester so I can have time to take all my pre-requisites before I need to apply to the Public Relations major in January. I'm really excited about the classes I'm going to take.  I have always loved school but it's so much better when I get to take classes for things that I want to learn as opposed to things they tell me i need to learn.  I can't wait!  It's going to take me longer than expected to graduate because I was set on being a poli sci major my whole life and just barely decided to change it.  I hope it doesn't set me back too far!

Blake and I love our ward! There are a lot of fun couples in there and today I called to be a primary teacher.  Since there are so many little kids it's going to be more of a nursery/primary teacher.  I'm so excited, there are the most adorable little kids in our ward.

Blake is working at Applebee's at nights and construction in the days and I'm still at Nordstrom.  That's pretty much all of our updates..

oh yeah, I am not very happy about Obama's nomination for the Supreme Court.  I'm worried about how this may play out.  I love that she is a minority, but the truth is that shouldn't matter.  Sotomayor is so pre-occupied about being a minority that she fails to see Americans as one people.  I don't think she'll do a good job making choices that benefit the entire country as a whole instead of just individual groups.  I hope the Senate doesn't choose her.

Wedding Pictures are on their way!

At Least I'm Trying...

For our wedding, Blake and I got this really cool thing called a "skookie."  A skookie, i learned, is a cookie skillet, so it's smaller than a regular skillet and you make big cookies with it.  Not rocket science....

Then I tried to make it.  I have NO idea how this happened but I guess it just comes with the territory of being a new wife.  Anybody else horribly ruin a meal when they were first married? Please tell me so I don't feel so bad for myself.

Blake is so sweet, as soon as he saw what I did, he ran really fast to his parents' house, asked his mom if he could borrow some ice cream, came back with two huge bowls and said "look, i fixed it!" He's so funny!

Hey, I've made other meals that turned out great, this is the first thing that I have managed to completely ruin.

Thing I've Learned

About my Husband this past 2 1/2 weeks:

1. He, just like me, hates driving next to semi's on the freeway
2. He never eats the last bite of a banana, he thinks it's really gross because he says it's the "butt of the banana"
3. He always pretends like the meal I just made is the best thing he's ever eaten, (even when i know i totally ruined it)
4. Without fail, he
ALWAYS gets extra scoops and/or mix-ins in his ice cream cones when we go get ice cream because the girl working there thinks he's really hot. (and sometimes, it's not even a girl)
5. I always knew that "Stairway to Heaven" was his favorite song, but it wasn't until we got married that I found out he has choreographed arm motions to the entire song. (video to come)
6. He always loses to me when we play "gotcha last"
7. But he is a very gracious loser

This is a list-in-progress, so i will no doubt be adding to it as time goes on.

5.1.09

Well we did it! We don't have many pictures from our wedding day yet (except this one I stole from Lindsey's blog, thanks Linds :)

Our wedding day was the most beautiful day in the history of this planet. Everything went perfectly, or at least if something went wrong, I was too happy to care or remember it now. The day started with Blake picking me up at 9 am to drive us here:

(actually, for me the day started many hours earlier so I could get ready, for Blake, it probably started at 8:45 so he could put his suit on and drive over)

We were so blessed to be able to have Elder Holland seal us. That experience is indescribable. We are so grateful for him for taking time out of his incredibly busy schedule to give us such an unbelievably incredible experience.

The line at our reception was sooooooooo looooong! Blake and I agree that while it was really fun to talk to everybody and we are so grateful that so many people were able to make it, we're really glad that we only have to do that once in our lives. :)

We went on our honeymoon to San Diego (pictures to come) and had so much fun! Blake planned everything out so well, we went to Sea World, the Wild Animal Park, the beach, La Jolla, Balboa Park, Old Town, and on our last day, we were even able to go to the San Diego Temple-GORGEOUS!

We're back home and after much gift-sorting, returning, and moving in, we're finally starting to get settled into our new apartment. It's so much fun! Blake's hilarious, he always keeps me laughing. I also love saying "my husband" I've found it's an amazing way to start a sentence. "My husband... has an inner ear infection" (Seinfeld)

Stick around, pictures are on their way...
